It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

One of my family’s favorite traditions is going through photographs we have of Christmases past. In old photo albums, you can find a 5-year-old version of me, still in my pj’s, holding a Hungry Hungry Hippos game overhead in triumph; me and my three siblings, sporting an array of now laughable trends, lined up on the couch; my grandfather standing next to the outdated aluminum tree he insisted on displaying every year.

One thing’s for sure: I hardly remember the gifts I received on Christmas morn, but I know me and my family had good times. We’ve got the pictures to prove it.

So, when Christmas comes around this year, be sure to capture the look on the kids’ faces when they open up their gifts from “Santa.” Don’t miss Grandma making the rounds to pinch cheeks and administer hugs. And if Mother Nature cooperates, be ready to document the impromptu snowball fight in the front yard.

Whatever the day brings, those special moments won’t be forgotten.

Share Your Favorite Christmas Memories

Show us your holiday spirit by uploading a favorite holiday picture and a short description to Facebook, and then share it on Inkubook’s wall.

Halloween is about more than candy, it’s about sharing.

Now that the pumpkins are no longer glowing brightly and the empty candy wrappers have settled, we can scroll through the festive photos of friends and family on Facebook, the blogs you follow and the emails sent by your less social media savvy peeps.  From smiles (candy, candy, candy) to toddler tears (they think they want to wear costumes, but they usually don’t like to), from off-the-rack to creative customized costumes, and from trick-or-treating to the overly-decorated house down the street, Halloween brings out the kid in us, the creative side of us, but mostly the desire to share our designs, our recipes, our kids and our fun.

Share the lead up – forcing the kids to eat dinner, getting ready, lighting the pumpkins. Share the actual event – parties, trick-or-treating or handing out the candy. Share the aftermath – a table covered in candy, sibling trades, the tears resulting from the removal of face paint. But don’t stop there. Don’t just share the holidays. Share the little moments too.  You never know whose heart you’ll warm, whose smile you’ll widen, whose creativity you’ll spark, or whose day you’ll make by posting that photo.

Share. Share often.

Don’t Leave Your Memories in the Dust, Make a Road Trip Inkubook

There’s nothing quite like the open road. A full tank of gas, windows down and a car full of friends… something about nice weather just gives you the urge to take a road trip. Making new memories with each mile marker, the old saying really is true: getting there is half the fun.

When you’re packing up the car to leave, make sure not to forget your camera and a journal. Document every moment, every cheesy road side attraction and every mom-and-pop diner. Then, when you’ve finally had your fill of life on the road, return home and put all of your adventures in an Inkubook road trip photo book. Record each new state and different town you pass through in a book that maps out your exact journey.

And one more thing before you leave: Be sure not to forget about us while you’re cruising down the highway. Let us know where you’re headed and where you’ve been on Facebook and by commenting on this blog. Think of it as a postcard from you to us, only you won’t need a stamp.

So what are you waiting for? Buckle up, hit the road and have the time of your life. Drive safe and tell us all about it when you get back.

Now add Facebook photos to your Inkubook projects

Until late last year, Facebook photos were fun to view and share online but they were pretty small, low-quality images. Now, the world’s largest social network and one of the largest photo sharing sites, allows you to upload and download high resolution photos (up to 2048 pixels wide/tall). This makes a lot of sense for Facebook and we’re really glad that they did it because now you can import those pics directly into your gorgeous Inkbuook photo books!

Facebook App Page

It’s super simple to incorporate Facebook photos into your projects:

1. Upload Photos - From any Inkubook project go GET PHOTOS just like you normally would. Only now, you’ll see a new option for Facebook photos.SELECT PHOTOS AND LAYOUT METHOD

 2. Sign-in to Facebook – You will need to provide your Facebook username and password to access your photos.

FacebookLogin

3. Select Photos – Your photos are organized into the same albums you created in Facebook. Just select the ones you want and click IMPORT. That’s it. Now you’re making gorgeous photo books with your Facebook photos. Gotta “Like” that!SelectYourFacebookPhotos

If you still don’t have an Inkubook account, another great reason to join now is that you can create a free account using your Facebook ID. That’s one less website login info that you have to remember.
