Each season has its own personality that inspires a particular feeling, but there's something about autumn that makes it most distinctive. Maybe the 12 or so years we spend returning to school each fall has us trained to associate autumn with catching up with old friends, wearing new clothes, and sharpening our pencils. Maybe the anticipation of spooky Halloween costumes and the boatload of candy earned with them gets us excited for a sugar buzz. Or maybe knowing that the wonderful pilgrim-based holiday we call Thanksgiving is coming and that more festive times will be here soon makes sugarplums dance in our heads.
It doesn't really matter what it is about autumn that makes us feel happy and energized. What does matter is that there are LOTS of photo-taking opportunities: the fall break trip to visit cousins two states away, a visit to the apple orchard and cider mill, the trick-or-treating, the last football game of the season, and the preparations for the Thanksgiving feast only scratch the surface. Don't let those photos languish unused on your memory card. Make a photo book and keep that autumnal feeling alive.
